Celebrate Holt 2026

Launching this Summer

What does Holt look like through the eyes of the next generation?

THROUGH YOUNG EYES is a community storytelling project that invites young people aged 11–21 to share their experiences, hopes, concerns and ideas about life in Holt.

This summer, through interviews, photography, film, creative writing and digital storytelling, local young people will have the opportunity to tell their own stories in their own words. The project aims to create an honest and inspiring picture of what it is like to grow up in Holt today.

We often talk about the future of our town, but how often do we hear directly from those who will shape that future?

This project will explore questions such as:

  • What do young people love about Holt?

  • What opportunities do they see here?

  • What challenges do they face?

  • What would make them want to stay, return, or build their future in the town?

  • What does Holt mean to them?

The stories gathered will be brought together into a powerful community showcase, creating a lasting record of a generation's perspective on Holt and helping inform conversations about the town's future.

THROUGH YOUNG EYES is not about speaking for young people. It is about giving them a platform to speak for themselves.

By listening to their voices, we hope to strengthen understanding between generations, celebrate the experiences of young people, and spark new ideas about how Holt can continue to thrive as a place where people of all ages can belong, contribute and succeed.

Get Involved

If you are aged 11–21 and would like to take part, or if you are a parent, school, youth organisation, business or community group interested in supporting the project, we would love to hear from you.
